Some say the first step of “real life” is when you graduate college.
Others, spout how your adventures just beginning and that your in for a rude awakening.
I guess, an awakening of sorts is the perfect word for what’s been happening to me.
Since I graduated I’ve had to bring out a new version of myself.
A Me 2.0, who manages finances and expenses.
Suddenly, I had to adult. Yet, I didn’t even know what that meant.
This new “adventure” I was starting to embark on, was weighted with debt and
“what’s your next plan.”
I could barely plan what to eat for breakfast.
Nevertheless, what I’m going to do for the rest of my life.
College was suppose set it all in motion for me, but it’s just left me with more questions.
I guess all I can do is sit here and wait.
Wait, for the stage manager to call me in for this audition.
Wait, for the role of a lifetime. Most importantly, wait for my life to find its course.
On this journey called "adulting."
